2 minors injured, third in custody after Uptown shooting – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE — Two people are now in the hospital after being shot in Uptown Saturday evening, according to MEDIC.

On Sunday morning, CMPD released new information regarding the shooting that we first told you about Saturday around midnight.

Police said a juvenile suspect was in custody and another suspect, believed to be involved in the shooting, remained at large.

The incident happened on South Church Street near Romare Bearden Park shortly after 11 p.m.

Police also say the two shooting victims are also juveniles.

MEDIC says it took two patients to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A photo taken from a viewer’s Twitter account shows a heavy police presence blocking most of the road.

The cause of the shooting and the identities of those involved are still unknown.
