DENVER — Denver police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and six others injured at a motorcycle club in the Park Hill neighborhood early Sunday morning.

It happened around 3 a.m. Sunday at the after-hours private club in the 5500 block of East 33rd Avenue. Police tape lined the Park Hill Center parking lot that appeared to be the focus of the investigation.

DPD said on social media that the victims’ injuries were unknown. However, at an early morning news conference, Denver police Lt. Matt Clark said one man was pronounced deceased while six others were transported to area hospitals “under varying conditions.” “.

“One person has been pronounced deceased. And I have six other victims, all adults, who continue to receive some level of treatment at area hospitals,” Clark said.

Clark said an apparent confrontation inside the motorcycle club — Hell’s Lovers Motorcycle Club — led to shootings that took place inside and outside the building, with multiple weapons involved.

“We have evidence of multiple shots fired during this incident,” he said. “And every time we look at these cases with multiple victims, multiple shots fired, we consider the possibility that the people who may have been hit by gunfire also owned a gun and fired one.”

No arrests have been announced and Clark said he is seeking additional witnesses to the shooting to develop information on the suspects and determine exactly what happened.

East 33rd Avenue was closed between Holly and Hudson streets as the investigation continued.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-713-9867.
