When Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA) was named Speaker of the House, the question everyone seemed to be asking was: WHO? Now that we know a little more about Kevin McCarthy(R-CA), the most popular request seems to have become: Say What?
A recently resurfaced video of Johnson from 2022 certainly has Jimmy KimmelI am dizzy. In the clip, which was filmed in a Louisiana church, Johnson explains how he and his son Jack, who was 17 at the time, police each other’s porn viewing habits.
“They use something called ‘accountability software,’ which tracks internet activity on your computer, phone, iPad, etc. and share it with your accountability partner,” says Kimmel. In Johnson’s case, said partner is his aforementioned teenage son. “So if his son watches porn, his father gets an alert. And if Mike watches porn, his son gets an alert,” Kimmel continued, noting that “this East possible to be too close to your children.
Kimmel, clearly concerned about Jack’s future well-being, made a very public offer to the new speaker: “If you don’t have anyone else in your life to do this with, I’ll be happy to be your accountability partner porn… I’m very open-minded; whatever weird stuff you watch – I don’t know, clown porn, cosplay, foot fetish, tentacle stuff – no problem, I’m not judging. What happens between you, Mike, and your Johnson is your business. But let’s get your son out of there, eh?
For his part, Johnson proudly told guests at his speech – part of a panel titled “War on Technology” – that his son “had a clean slate.”
